Korean Chicken Bulgogi
Ingredients:
about 1-1.5 lbs chicken breast
2 Tbs minced garlic
2 Tbs honey powder or brown sugar
5 Tbs soy sauce
2 Tbs rice wine or sake
1 Tbs sesame oil
2 Tbs honey
1/2 tsp freshly ground pepper
green onions (chopped) for garnish
adding mushrooms & onions is optional
Recipe:
Mix all the sauce ingredients in a large bowl. Add the cut up chicken breasts & mix well. Cover & marinate in the fridge for at least 2 hours. Cook the marinated chicken in a lightly oiled pan & add mushrooms & onions (about 1/4 cup each sliced) if using. Garnish with some chopped green onions.
I am making this soon! Looks great!
ReplyDeleteJust made this with chicken thigh filet instead of breast, and it tastes really good. I think grilling it would add a deeper flavor. Also, don't skimp on the honey/sugar like I did. I had to omit the honey for my mom who's diabetic, but it doesn't taste quite like chicken bulgogi. It might look like a lot of sugar when you taste the marinade but it will taste very different once its in the chicken.
